How To Wean Puppies To A Raw Dog Food Diet

“You don’t realize it, but in the next few minutes you’re going to learn…” how you can start your dogs early on a raw dog food diet that will surely allow them to gain the most benefit from this form of diet. Now follow my path …if you can get them on this type of diet from puppy-hood, that would be the most advantageous. The fact is… that this will make it sure that they will get all the nutrients they need in a form their bodies can manage. That is why I strongly advocate weaning your puppies to a raw food diet as soon as this becomes possible.

Puppy food nutrients suggestions

When you wean your puppies, you actually start off with milk meals to wean them from their mother. This means puppies as young as 2.5 weeks old can already be started on this type of diet. If you prefer to wait till your puppy is 3 to 5 weeks old, that’s fine too. When preparing milk meals, you want to use raw or fresh milk when you do this. Goat’s milk is preferred because it’s easier for the puppies to digest it, but if that’s not available, other kinds of milk like cow’s milk are suitable as well.

Aside from goat’s milk, you would need to mix in some other ingredients into your puppies milk meal to make sure that it gets all the nutrients essential for it’s growth. Typical things to add include eggs (without the shell), unprocessed honey, flax seed oil and yogurt. Some pet owners also add vitamin c and vitamin b supplements just to make sure. Put all of these ingredients in a blender and mix them well together before serving to your puppies.

When they’re just a few weeks old, you will need to feed your puppy on demand, which is usually 4 to 5 feedings in a day. Take your cue from how frequently they nurse from their mother.  When your puppies are around 6 weeks old, you can begin looking for indicators that they are ready for solid food. You may notice the mother regurgitating her food and feeding it to her puppies. You may also notice that your puppies now have teeth.

Here are some first food tips to remember

When you see these signs, you know you can start introducing some solid food into your puppies’ diet. An ideal first food would be a vegetable mush that has 50% protein content. Here are some key things to remember when starting your puppies on solids:
Make sure to puree or to mix the food together very well. This will make sure that your puppies get all of the nutrients that they need from the meals that you serve them. When serving vegetables, avoid greens from the cabbage family as they can give your puppy gas or thyroid problems

STOP…avoid serving grains to a puppy dog.  Dogs cannot tolerate grains and you will probably be making them sick with allergies if they are fed grains every day .  Only serve one kind of vegetable or meat at a time for about a week, before moving on to another kind of meat or vegetable. This is to help you identify potential food allergies. Once you are certain that your puppies are not allergic to a selection of vegetables and meat that you have served them, then you can go ahead and mix those food together to serve to your puppies. You want to strive for balance and variety over a period of time. You can achieve this by shifting the meals that you serve your puppies.

When starting your puppies on solids, make sure that you still continue to serve milk meals

Next… animal offal or organs are a good source of protein and other nutrients that your growing puppies need. But make sure that these do not make up more than 10% of your puppies meals.  Introducing the raw dog food diet to your puppies will require a lot of attention to details. A great resource on this topic can be found in Maggie Rhines’ book called “Going Rawr!Dog Lover’s Compendium“. I suggest investing in it to anyone who is seriously considering putting their puppies or adult dogs on a raw dog food diet.

How to make German shepherd big

Many people are wondering how to make German shepherd big? The best thing to do is to choose a puppy from German shepherd parents that are already big. You can choose the largest puppy of the litter. The puppy having the right genetics will then grow as big as his parents or even bigger if you give him the right dog food and training and attention. German shepherds grows big on your positive attention.

Train your German shepherd to get big and strong

But this is probably basic knowledge. Then there are things like training. You can build the dogs muscle mass by giving him one hour full attention by going for walks. Running. German shepherds love to crash trough the forest and the faster the better. you can not outrun him but you can give him a good training session. You can also walk with him through rugged terrain. German shepherds absolutely love rugged terrain where there are small vermin in hiding. He will get to use all senses like hearing and smelling the critters.

What food is bad for getting a big German shepherd?

Next… Giving him good nutritious food is very important. Do not feed him cheap crappy dry food. Your German shepherd will not grow big on corn and all the other bad components they add to the mix. Dry dog food can lay on the shelf’s for months before you buy it and take it home.  That’s why they add a lot of preservatives to it which is very bad for your dog and will make him sick in the long run because he will have problems with getting rid of these toxins without help from homeopathic medication.

What food is good for getting a big German shepherd?

Now what food is good for how to make German shepherd big? A raw food diet with meat and bones is the best for getting a big dog. A German shepherd is a predator so vegetables is not his main diet. He have to eat meat. That’s just the way it is. Anyone trying something else will be sorry and the dog will be sorry to. Just look at the sharp razor like teeth on the German shepherd and you will see that it is not really for chewing vegetables. The German shepherd will eat grass once in a while but that is just for some extra vitamins or possibly metabolism. The Trouble with Dogfood

There have been an article on Mercola.com about Ellen DeGeneres new pet food brand which is an all vegan dog food.  And there have been some brouhaha  on Facebook by people who have their opinions about this. There are also strong interests that wants that the dog and cat owners should feed the dogs and cats with vegetables and avoid giving them meat. This may go for us humans because we can pick and choose what to eat. We have the jaw and dentition of a plant eater. Just look at the gorillas they have a 99 percent plant/fruits/nuts diet. We are very similar to the gorillas and should eat like they do to stay healthy. Which means more of greens.

Dogs however are different. Dogs likes raw meat. Do you like eating raw meat? No I don't think so. So dogs are different from us. They have as I the dentition of a carnivore. This do not mean that they can not eat green stuff to. My dog liked a varied diet and did eat from the grass outside so there will always be a dilemma should I kill that pig or die of starvation?

What if you are a vegetarian?

If you are a vegetarian you will run into a dilemma. Should you make a vegetarian out of your dog? Can dogs really live on just vegetable foods? And are there anyone who have tried that? I do not think  it is a smart idea feeding your dog on only plant matter for the health and well being of your dog. If you have a problem with giving your dog red meat, then you have to find him dog food with protein in it. And avoid to feed him the crap dog food with lots of corn in it. Dogs do not have the need for ingesting corn it probably will make them sick. You do not drive your bike on diesel you buy gasoline and it is the same for your dog whether you want it or not. For such is the world.

I have located an e-book about dog food that you may find interesting. I haven't gotten and read it yet but from what I have found out it is a good read about how to make your own dog food. Which may be the best you could do for your dog. You can have a look at the site right here. This book is the next on my list of dog literature. Oh choices, choices. I just spent twenty bucks on an e-book about treasure hunting so I will have to read that one before I get another one.

Do you have an itchy German Shepherd? Does your GSD scratch all the time? There are loads of things that can make your GSD scratch itself. Watch to learn more.

How to make your German Shepherd more healthy

I have added this video to my site because i want  to write something about the information given in it. Most of it is good except for one thing, do not give your dog Canola oil. I do not put that stuff on my table and I do not recommend that you give it to the a German Shepherd. Canola oil has a story.  The Canola oil trademark is not derived from a plant, but is a mix of Canada and oil. The correct name for the plant or the seed that the oil comes from is rape seed. Now rape seed is poisonous to us large and small, and can be used for insect repellant. Rape oil have been used as an engine lubricant and as a synthetic rubber base.

So what did they do to the rape seed oil problem?

They genetically changed it, and also by cross breeding modified it for human use and changed it's name to Canola oil.  All in the holy name of profits. There is no proof that Canola oil is safe to use, it is just a grand experiment on us all. Now this oil is now so cheap that they replace it for other more expensive food oils and put it into everything. Check out the food labels on what you eat or ask the baker what oil he uses. Here is a fact for you…Rape seed have naturally a high component of erucic acid. Now they say that they have modified out and removed the mustard component or erucic acid down to manageable levels, and that it now is incredible healthy for you. Should we gamble with that? I do not because there are better alternatives.

Coconut oil the wonder oil

Coconut oil is a tried and trusted fat used for generations. Coconut oil is very heat stable. But you should try it out for yourself you have to start with smaller doses of oil to adjust your dog to the use of coconut oil. The coconut oil also can have the benefit of making your dog slimmer. Because it improves digestion.  You can even use this fat as a tooth paste for your dog. And to detoxify your dog. Now, you have to search for yourself for the facts and decide for yourself. I would never have given my dog Canola oil because I do not know if it would have shortened the dogs life span. Coconut oil is good, because I use it every day in cooking and as a butter. If you and your dog want to get healthier then get coconut oil even if it is more expensive to get hold of.

German shepherd dog food

Is it wise to feed your dog human food? Most dogs are related to the wolf family a very carnivorous bunch, which means they need to have meat in their diet. This does not mean human food is the correct food for them. It is best to find a dog food product where the first ingredient is meat. Make sure it is real meat and not some processed substitute. Feeding your dog human food is a bad idea because it can be too greasy for them and block their arteries.

Dogs have very sensitive digestive tracks so they are susceptible to diarrhea and upset stomachs if you change their food. It is best to find a dog food you prefer and that is healthy for them. You also want to keep them on the same food.  Changing food can cause problems.

If you feel you need to change food, you should slowly integrate the new food with the old until you have fully replaced the old. This should take two weeks or a little more. Dogs when full grown should be fed once a day at the same time. Never feed your German shepherd or any other dog with cured meats. There is salts and nitrites that will be in the treated meats that will make the dog loose a lot of water. And he will need a bucket of water to drink later. Be careful what you give your G.S.D of processed foods.
