In the next few minutes i will tell you what training German Shepherds means and what you as the dogs trainer and handler have to do to get a dog that is a great asset to you and not a dog that you want to get rid of as fast as possible. To train a German shepherd you got to start early as soon as you get the dog. Training a German shepherd is a great responsibility you do not want a dog that is a danger to other dogs or people around you.

Training German shepherd are a task that demands feedback from others. Talk to and get to know other German shepherd owners that have dogs that know how to behave. There is no shame in getting a mentor. Many will let you have their advice for free if you just talk to them. A German shepherd needs a firm hand and do not fall in the trap of rewarding him all the time. Reward him if he do the correct things with a treat, but do not reward him for anything he do's or the reward thing will get out of hand and he will think that he is the decider and not you.

A German shepherd is a very smart dog and if you are persistent you can pretty much learn him anything in the dog tricks department. Exercise is very important in German Shepherd training a good dog is a tiered dog. German shepherds like to go places, travel in cars is no problem with a German Shepherd he likes that.  Watch out for barking in your ear when you drive he can be a little exited when he sees a cat besides the road. It is best to keep the dog in the rear of your car to avoid that situation. 

Barking in a dog is a natural thing so it is like communicating for them. Telling you things like they think you as a leader should know. So please do not yell at your dog because he is barking this is the natural instinct in work and he is a dog and not a human.  German shepherds are not really into barking if they are treated right. If they bark much then there is something wrong with the situation they are in.

Things like being left alone for long periods of time without company. Think of it this way. If you where tied up to a flagpole eight hours a day without seeing anybody would you feel fine? Remember that in training German Shepherds it is your responsibility that your dog or dogs do not is activated.  A German shepherd is a gentle and most adjustable dog that like to be inside if it is raining just like you. He even likes watching tv and will enjoy old dog series like Lassie and other god dog movies.
